Jambmaths question:
The probability that a student passes a physics test$\frac{2}{3}$. If he takes three physics test, what is the probability that he passes two of the tests?
Option A:
$\frac{4}{9}$
Option B:
$\frac{6}{9}$
Option C:
$\frac{4}{27}$
Option D:
$\frac{2}{27}$
Jamb Maths Solution:
Prob (Passing) =$\frac{2}{3}$
Prob (failing) =$1-\frac{2}{3}=\frac{1}{3}$
Prob(Passing two out of three test) = $prob(Pass)\times prob(pass)\times prob(fail)=\frac{2}{3}\times \frac{2}{3}\times \frac{1}{3}=\frac{4}{27}$
