Jambmaths question:
Find the distance between the points $(\tfrac{1}{2},\tfrac{1}{2})$and $\text{(}-\tfrac{1}{2},-\tfrac{1}{2})$
Jamb Maths Solution:
$\begin{align} & D=\sqrt{{{({{x}_{2}}-{{x}_{1}})}^{2}}+{{({{y}_{2}}-{{y}_{1}})}^{2}}} \\ & D=\sqrt{(\tfrac{1}{2}-{{(-\tfrac{1}{2})}^{2}}+(\tfrac{1}{2}-{{(-\tfrac{1}{2})}^{2}}} \\ & D=\sqrt{{{(\tfrac{1}{2}+\tfrac{1}{2})}^{2}}+{{(\tfrac{1}{2}+\tfrac{1}{2})}^{2}}}=\sqrt{{{1}^{2}}+{{1}^{2}}}=\sqrt{2} \\\end{align}$
