Jambmaths question:
If the mean of five consecutive numbers integer is 30. Find the largest of the number
Option A:
30
Option B:
28
Option C:
34
Option D:
32
Jamb Maths Solution:
Let the number be $n,n+1,n+2,n+3,n+4$
$mean=\bar{x}=\frac{n+n+1+n+2+n+3+n+4}{5}$
$\frac{5n+10}{5}=30$
$n+2=20$
$n=28$
The largest number is n + 4 = 28 + 4 =32
