Jambmaths question:
P varies directly as Q and inversely as R , when Q = 36 and R =16 , R = 27. Find the relation between P, Q and R
Option A:
$P=\tfrac{12Q}{R}$
Option B:
$P=12QR$
Option C:
$P=\tfrac{12}{QR}$
Option D:
$P=\tfrac{Q}{12R}$
Jamb Maths Solution:
$\begin{align} & p\propto \frac{Q}{R} \\ & P=\frac{KQ}{R}\text{ (}K\text{ is the proportionality constant)} \\ & \text{27=}\frac{36K}{16} \\ & K=\frac{27\times 16}{36}=12 \\ & P=\frac{12Q}{R} \\\end{align}$
